Ancient Roman Numismatics

During the history of Ancient Rome, the currency they used varied in the materials it was made from. These materials included bronze, copper, gold, and silver. The Romans started producing coins in the third century BC and continued until the decline of their Empire. However, the appearance, value, and materials of Roman currency underwent several changes over the course of time. These transformations were influecned by economic needs, political changes, and other social developments.
